Common Dental Emergencies

Posted on 9/5/2022 by SRD Muscle Shoals
Common Dental EmergenciesSince a toothache may indicate a multitude of dental problems, its cause must be identified in order to be treated. Two common causes of toothaches include infections in the dental pulp and things caught in the teeth. In the interim, a cold compress could help with the discomfort. Toothaches, chipped teeth, and lost tooth implants are frequently used as definitions of dental emergencies. If any of these dental emergencies affect you or your family, make sure to get prompt dental care by visiting one of our emergency dentists.

What is a Knocked-Out Tooth?

Emergency dental care is required in the event of any facial trauma that causes teeth to become loose or fall out. An effort must be made to keep a weak tooth in order to prevent it from being lost. You can do this by gently biting down a tooth. It is important to look for the missing teeth after a tooth is knocked out. You can keep a missing tooth by using one of two techniques, such as inserting it back into the socket. The other way is putting a tooth in a flask with cold water. This includes parts of the broken tooth.

What is a Dental Restoration?

Although temporary restorations are significantly more likely to do so, a restoration has the potential to fall out. They both require emergency dental care, regardless of the restoration style. For a permanent restoration, you must bring the restoration in. Until you can see our dentist, you might be able to maintain a temporary restoration in place with denture adhesive.

Give us a call right now to speak with one of our dentists and obtain an emergency dental practice. Similarly, consult with our dentists on scheduling a regular appointment of visiting our clinic for checkups.
